Emily Taylor

Emily started rowing in the Fresher's squad at Durham University, after being approached casually by a member of the University Boat Club.

In 2007 she won her first GB vest and a bronze medal in the women's four at the World U23 Championships in Strathclyde.

Emily has a background in sports, having done swimming to regional standard and cross-country running to county level.

She was a bronze medallist at the National Championships in 2006 in the U23 single scull event. Emily is also a two-time Northumbrian Boat Race winner: in 2006 in the freshwomen eight and in 2007 in the senior women's eight.

Emily is currently studying Economics with French at Durham University, where she has just finished her third year. Since September she has been studying in Aix-en-Provence and training with a local rowing club in Marseille.
