Hannah Elsy

Hannah started rowing in 2001 while at school, where she also used to play hockey.

At the age of 16 she was put in a pair with fellow school-mate Sophie Hosking - now a member of the GB senior lightweight women's squad. Hannah won her first GB vest in 2003 at Coupe de la Jeunesse and went on to be selected in the women's four for the 2004 Junior World Championships, where she finished 6th.

She narrowly missed a place in the U23 squad last year, being selected as a spare. Hannah went on to win a gold medal in the pair at the 2007 National Championships and was then selected to represent England at the Home Countries Regatta, where she won two gold medals, in the pair and the eight.

Hannah brought great success to her club, having won gold medals at BUSA Regatta and BUSA Head in 2006 and 2007.

She has just completed her final year of an Anthropology degree at Durham University, where she is also a member of the University boat club executive committee. She would like to pursue a career in sports marketing in the future.
