WARA
The Welsh Amateur Rowing Association (WARA) - or Rhwyfo Cymru - is the National Governing Body for rowing on rivers, the sea and Cardiff Bay, in Wales.
The Association works with the Sports Council for Wales to raise the awareness of and increase participation in rowing within Wales. It is self-governing for rowing in Wales, but values a close working relationship with the Amateur Rowing Association in England on coaching development, competition, and safety amongst other issues.
The alliance between WARA and sea-rowers was recently cemented when the Welsh Sea Rowing Association's David Thomson became Vice Chairman of the Association.
The Home International Regatta 2008 will be held at Cardiff Bay, the 2000m national competition course completed in 2005. The new racking and boating facilities here are now home to Cardiff University Boat Club.
